Skills is a collection of 13 games that help you to focus on the here-and-now. The games are mindfulness and distress tolerance skills that can be used anywhere. Each skill activates different sensory stimuli like motoric, auditive, logic and visual.

    Had to try on my old android phone, but still worked. Wish I could try it on my iphone

Hey! I am Martin, the founder of Vacay GmbH i.G. We are working on a couple of projects in the field of digital mental health. Our goal is to make psychotherapy more accessible and inclusive. Skills is our first release. It's an experimental collection of games we developed for a research project. We thought it would be fun to release them as an individual app and let everyone try them out. For us it's a chance to getting to know our users. The games activate different sensory channels. They are all designed so that the user can not lose. The games don't have an incentive based reward system. They should not be addictive or frustrating to play. It's a way to distract the user from stress without getting the user hooked. We hope you like it!

Awesome design, did you do research to see what resonates most with people? It's always a challenge for me to design what I think looks good compared to what audience I'm building for expects to see.

@mwood23 Thanks, Marcus. We use a user-centered design approach and try to ask ers informally or interview them in a more formal way as early as possible in the design process. In the beginning it wasn't easy to know what to make out of the answers we got. After a couple iterations we were getting an idea of how to use the feedback. Since we designed the games for a population we were unfamiliar with, we really didn't know what to expect. It helps a lot to have establish an ongoing conversation with them.
