I have been part of the beta and I love Sip! The short news stories just take a few minutes to read and I'm up to speed. I love how the app works and Sip is an app I'll keep on my iPhone.

Pros:

Popular news in just a few minutes

Cons:

Not at the moment

I have been using Sip for a while now, but never received any notifications - that's probably because it's being officially launched only today. Let's see how this goes!

Pros:

Great design and love the concept! The idea of notifications for tech news is wonderful and I cannot wait to see how this comes out!

Cons:

Never received any notifications (news) all during the beta period.

Seeing the future and those who make it

Been using beta for the last couple weeks. Great aggregation of relevant product and tech stories. Love the different mediums that content is pulled from (i.e., Twitter, tech blogs, Sip original summaries, etc.).

Pros:

Relevant & digestible content that is well curated & comprehensive.

Cons:

None so far.

I am in favor of keeping the swipe to continue format, an auto-play could get too sloppy depending on speed IMO.

Pros:

Bite-sized stories, with a pinch of wit, focusing on the big picture for your daily tech news consumption. Various sources per Sip story 👍

Cons:

None

So yeah, really accurate news about tech. Nice way of reading the news. So far so good. Maybe add a share button, or copy link to share with a friend the link about the news.

And as i said in my cons, add a setting button or make it international for the time change ^^ cause for sure at 2 am it didn't disturb my focus :P

GREAT APP !

Pros:

Really cool app. Easy to use !

Cons:

Maybe a share button and as well settings for the time notification. Because i live in France, and i got my daily notification at 2am ^^

I've been using Sip since it first came in beta and fell in love with the idea of daily, digestible news for those who want to complement or replace their watch for tech-based news. Stories are well curated and the whole experience looks promising! :)

Pros:

Major news of the day with the important parts highlighted, no bs.

Cons:

Needs some UI/UX improvements but the team is listening to feedback and working on it!

A "refreshing" new app.

Pros:

Useful idea and awesome design.

Cons:

Layout design for tapping through sips is great but the transitions are glitchy looking. Could use some better transitions.

It's pretty cool, like twitter moments for relevant tech news. Nice work PH team.

Pros:

Nice app, I've enjoyed using it and found the news relevant.

Cons:

Would be good to swipe across (I'm on android, not sure if you can do i in iOS)

OK..a bit of a shameless plug on the con: I am a voice over guy who worked with and lamented the loss of Umano (the app that was later bought by Dropbox!)

My ask is simple: Can I work with someone at Product Hunt and do a demo with you to explore narration/audio options? Feel free to reach out to me directly. This MAY be a nice user option, not unlike how Medium has now given readers the option to listen to articles of all sizes.

Standing by to collaborate!

Pros:

Intriguing format that's eclectic in its design

Well curated info on new tech of all kinds Really love that tweets co-exist with content

Cons:

Perhaps an audio option?

That's it really. Will update once I've used it a little more.

Pros:

Simple and straightforward. No bs and unncessary details.

Cons:

A bit too simple at times.

When I open the app it goes through the setup process, but never saves the result so it never seems to actually sends me any notifications.

Pros:

Couldn't say at this stage

Cons:

Doesn't seem to be working

Cons:

Wish it had stories on a daily basis.

The design is simple but it's clear a lot of thought went in to it.

I love how non-intrusive the whole experience is. Push notifications are capped (in fact i think that was part of the original value prop which enticed me) to no more than one per day and navigating sips is so seamless.

It doesn't try to keep you there like many other apps do and since adopting it i'm finding i'm better connected to all major events happening in digital/tech.

Lastly the animated gifs/pics to break up the content might not be everyone's cup of tea but i find it breaks up the content really well.

Pros:

Short digestible tech stories pushed to your phone no more than once a day

Cons:

No real bug bears come to mind as yet
