Hi all, I'm Josh. In 2006, a friend of mine was traveling the world with no good access to news. So I created SimplyHeadlines, an RSS + widgets once-a-day email newspaper basically for the two of us. Someone at CNET and the Houston Chronicle found it, and it blew up. And everyone asked, WTF!? My favorite was the 2006 TechCrunch headline - "SimplyHeadlines Is About Five Years Too Late." They argued, back then, back before FB and social media, there was already too much news. And good knows it's only gotten worse. So why on EARTH did I spend my Holidays redoing SimplyHeadlines, almost precisely as it was, but with a magic sprinkling of AI for feed discovery and news summation? Lord knows. Maybe it's because all of the email, social, and web-based news I get STILL misses the mark for me. Is it because I honestly don't EVER want to see "he who will not be named (e.g., current US president)" in my news, ever!? Maybe. Or is it simply because there is a reason why, after almost 30 years, RSS feeds STILL exist!? Because you can pick what you want and just get it delivered. And that's literally all that SimplyHeadlines ever was and now is again - a once a day, RSS reader + fun widgets (weather, stock market, joke or the day, news filter, trumperaser, etc) where you can say "just show me the top headlines for these feeds, my weather and make me happy" and you can get that. Also open to any additional widget ideas. p.s.s. I think Weather is US only for now, sorry.
