@bluzthemes Hey Paz! We've calculated out our profitability on the lifetime model to make sure we can support it, & limit to quota to make sure it's within bounds. We also added a monthly plan for people who don't already have a number - so that's part of it too!

@noahkagan Hey is there anyway to preview what the Zapier actions and triggers are prior to buying I can't seem to find them on Zapier or on the ShortySMS site. I'd like to use this as a tool for my Zaps but want to make sure I can send specific data from Zapier into ShortySMS (and back and forth)

@iamnishu This is Appsumo's speciality though. Fake Reviews and Paid Upvotes on Product Hunt to drive demand of a product. So spend $19 x 20 = $380 for a product hunt campaign and then get $400,000 in successful sales. It's a great business model! No wonder so many products on Appsumo fail.. cause they are just hype driven by fake reviews...

So I think ?makers are missing (or omitting) an important element of this deal. You need a Twilio number for it to work. I was under the impression, I could bring my own number. That does not appear to be the case. Although $19 for life seems to be a great deal, you need to dive in further to understand for this to work you will need to pay a monthly subscription to Twilio or !product. Otherwise, it's a useless App for $19. There's a little marketing deception going on here imo. Love the concept of the App, hate how the !product is marketed.

Hey, @mark_delville. It's a great point. We try to be as transparent as possible about that — both mentioning under the deal terms and mentioning on a pinned topic. We have people bring their own Twilio number for total flexibility — pay only for what you need, international SMS, multi-number support, etc. We do also offer a discounted monthly plan for people who want a number provided for them. Appreciate you bringing this up so I could help clarify more.

Looking into clarification on this, @sajwalpageni. What I can say with 100% certainty is that our Originals products has no direct affiliation with Ken Moo. We did NOT have him give away any of our products, and we take this matter seriously. Maybe the larger AppSumo team has a relationship with him for affiliate, but if he's promoting free products for upvotes I assume that's in direct violation of our affiliate agreement. This is all news to me, I know nothing about this, so I'll be looking into more closely.
