Shortly

Short stories from reddit based on how much time you have

#4 Product of the DayOctober 29, 2017

Shortly is an app for reading short stories.

Pick how long you have to read (1, 3 or 5 minutes) and you will get a story of that length from the best of /r/writingprompts on Reddit.

Hi! I've made this app for people like me, people who love to read but just want to read something quick and short. You pick how long you have to read (1,3 or 5 minutes) and then you will get a story of that length from the best of /r/writingprompts on Reddit. Let me know what you think!

Are you considering adding other sources beyond /r/writingprompts? Perhaps Medium?

@rrhoover One of the best things about getting the stories from Reddit is the upvote system. It ensures that we only show the best and highest rated stories. This way you know that you will have a great read every single time. I have considered other subreddits and other sources beyond Reddit. As long as we can ensure that all stories are of good quality, there's no reason not to use them!

@rrhoover @qasim_m You should definitely include Medium. :) Great work, Qasim.

This is a great idea and a source to read short stories. I hope you are featuring only the most voted stories from reddit. One suggestion: If you can provide an option to go to next story without going back to home screen, that will be beneficial. You can provide next/prev button at the end of each story for easy navigation.
