Such a great collection with a diverse range of short films of different genres, e.g. documentary or comedy. You can even browse by language or country. shortfil.ms also focus on the people behind the scenes, like directors, writers and cast. It's a catalog made by and for film lovers! 📽😻

that's nice. As a filmmaker myself, I'm wondering what are your resources for these films, do you ask the filmmaker's permission to post these or do you just pick from the web. Also - are you planning to use it as a distribution platform for young filmmakers so they can monetize? I think the best way to grow in terms of content would be going to the biggest film festivals for shorts, such as: Clermont Ferrand, Palm Springs and leading Student short film festivals. Cheers,

@yoavush Hey yoav, thanks for your feedback! We're adding films, which have been submitted by our users or the directors themselves. Also we're huge (short) film fans ourselves, so we're finding and adding a lot of films, too. Right now all films are coming from either YouTube or Vimeo, but we're looking into more exclusive ways to feature great short films. We would love to enable young filmmakers to optionally charge a small fee to let viewers watch their shorts on shortfil.ms (I'm thinking of @VHXtv...). There might be potential for something like that when we're launching our iOS and Android apps which are planned for Q1 2016. That said, our ambitious goal is to become somewhat like "a (free) Netflix for short films". We're well adopted in Germany's short film scene (where we're from), but of course we're working on getting more international traction. And you're right: festivals might be a perfect opportunity for that.

@eay Cool! so reelport and shortfilmdepot sound like cool potential partners. I'll submit one of my short films myself! ;)

@tnsrig Hey Thanasis, thanks for your feedback. We're already working on a redesign, but first things first: our Android and iOS apps. After that we're planning to release a renewed website (with a new short film festival section) and after that... who knows? I've heard the new tvOS boxes are really nice. 😌

I love this. It's so hard to find a good collection of short films that are actually available to watch online. Are there any plans to add a Watch List? I'd love to pick a few films to remember for later.

@scottruona Hey Scott, we're glad you like shortfil.ms and you're right: a watch list is definitely missing right now. It's planned to roll out with our iOS and Android apps in Q1 2016 (in fact it's already implemented in our development builds: https://twitter.com/eay/status/6... 😊).

@eay @scottruona Btw: every film in this screenshot is superb! ☺️
