I'm thrilled to unveil Shopmatey, a social commerce platform that aims to change the way people shop online by offering a unified shopping experience. Our user-friendly platform allows anyone to start their own online store using their mobile device with ease. Whether you want to take a picture of your product or record a shoppable video, Shopmatey allows you to start selling immediately by accepting payments directly. But that's not all. Shopmatey is powered by WordPress, providing a range of customization options to make getting started easy. Additionally, our platform serves as a discovery commerce platform, allowing you to create your own profile and link products you already sell on other marketplaces, making it easier for your customers to find and purchase your products in one link. Technically, Shopmatey is built on a WordPress multi-site configuration, which comes with certain limitations such as the inability to use your own plugins. However, we're working on improving the platform and a way forward would be to offer a dedicated plan with a Single Site configuration, which would not have this limitation. Please note that Shopmatey is currently in beta. In the future, we hope to make money from a subscription model that would derive from hosting plans, but for now we're focusing on building value for our customers. The profile will always remain free!

@paolo_degiglio Thanks for your support of Shopmatey! Customization is possible from the WordPress backend, however with some limitations due to the current architecture of a WordPress Multi-Site setup. At the moment, installing plugins/themes can only be done by the support team which would be a team member with admin access. Due to how WordPress handles plugin on multi-site, one plugin that is enabled would be available site-wide meaning all stores built on Shopmatey which pose some security risk if the plugin is not coded properly. For certain plugins like those directly from Automattic or well known developers, we could definitely help to enable them. For now we've used the Divi Theme for our base which is quite versatile with the Divi Builder. Custom branding is in the works, and we're currently looking into implementing an efficient ways to implement DNS Mapping for even more white label options.
