In Turkey, when someone you love leaves on a journey, you pour a cup of water behind them. "Su gibi git, su gibi gel": go smoothly like water, come back just as easily.
When a subscriber churns in ShipHQ, nobody gets angry and the office doesn't go dark. Someone just steps out and pours water after them. Churn hurts, but I wanted it to feel like "see you again" instead of a loss.
How do you handle the days when someone cancels? Do you look at churn, or avoid it?
Congrats@ridvan_uyan
@cem_ozcelik Thank you :)
@ridvan_uyan I love the rule about not inventing numbers. Keeping the milestones tied to real data makes the rewards feel much more meaningful.
@mishaal_rashid Thank you, that one mattered a lot to me 🙏 Early on I was tempted to fill empty screens with estimates so the office would look busier, but every time I did, the trophies stopped feeling like mine. A dash felt more honest than a nice-looking guess.
Curious: is there a number in your own app you'd want celebrated that dashboards usually ignore?
@mishaal_rashid @ridvan_uyan The cup of water after churn is such a thoughtful touch. Thanks for sharing that Turkish tradition, Rıdvan. It turns a sad moment into something kind
@ridvan_uyan The small details, like the water after someone churns, make this feel surprisingly personal. That Turkish touch is a lovely detail.
@nick_hobbs4 Thank you Nick :)
I'am really happy to hear that. Everythink that we've done includes from us little bit. Thank you for comment and see that detail :)
congrats on your launch! When will it be available on android?
@anton_w Thank you! Good point and good question. Hopefully in a month. If you can contact me on X I can send you DM when it's available on Play Store.
@ridvan_uyan Keep a lookout from business account underpeaks.
Such a fun idea. Love how it makes RC stats feel way more alive 😄 Congrats on the launch!
@faruk_mollaoglu Thank you so much! 😄
That was exactly the feeling I was chasing: RC is great at telling you what happened, I just wanted to actually see it happen. Watching the first stranger walk through that door still gets me every time.
Do you have apps on RevenueCat too? Curious which stat you'd want to come alive first 👀
Turning real subscriber numbers into a little isometric office where new customers walk in each morning is a fun twist on analytics. The idea of your metrics having presence instead of sitting in a table is memorable. Churn getting a send-off made me laugh.
@karimbenkeroum Haha, glad that one landed 😄 It's actually my favorite detail in the whole app.
In Turkey, when someone you love leaves on, you pour a cup of water on the ground behind them. We say "su gibi git, su gibi gel": go smoothly like water, and come back just as easily. It isn't a goodbye, it's a quiet wish that they'll return.
So when a subscriber churns in ShipHQ, nobody gets angry and the office doesn't go dark. Someone just steps out and pours water after them. Churn hurts, but I wanted it to feel like a "see you again" instead of a loss. Every loss is a opportunity to learn a new knowledge. And sometimes they really do come back.
