Thanks so much for your review Kasia. And you;re right the anonymous option is there for asking stuff that's sensitive but you know only 1 in 5 use it so far as the community as a whole is non-judgemental and I think our members feel comfortable sharing.

So overall its a good app - adding value and doing something interesting for sure. I posted a question about startups and got pretty good feedback from a couple pro women and other girls starting up. My other question on travelling to Japan already got 3 replies from girls who have been there and one from someone living there already and looks like we will meet up when i get there which is awesome. So far so good - but could do better with the UX so you don't have to keep jumping between groups.

Pros:

broad range of topics and active community

Cons:

no collated feed

Hi Daniella thanks so much for your feedback and glad you have received some value already. Re the UX issue we are working on a new merged home feed right now to stop you having to go from group to group to catch up with the latest stuff. Aiming to have this released in the coming weeks. Feel free to drop any further feedback to me at hello@shello.com

Shady app with tons of fake profiles. Uses people's images without their permission along with fake quotes to advertise the site! Pretty useless categories that are mostly dead or stale. No good way to see who the team behind this is, either. Not a real community.

Pros:

None.

Cons:

Fake users, uses people's images without permission to create them, stale.

Hi Adi Marie, looks like this is a fake profile as that you have joined PH just to post this "review". You can find out everything about me/us via our site at https://shello.com With regards fake profiles, Shello is only FB signup at the moment as it is the closest way for us to validate that people who join are real people. We use real first names and the profile pics from their FB profiles. The community is very much active across over 90% of the groups so I'm not sure which categories you're referring to but, as we're only just starting out, there are a few where activity is still yet to kick off like the crafting group for example. If you'd like to email directly with any more feedback you can reach me at hello@shello.com

Seems to be a lot of the same users with very little content, buggy app, and very England-centric. I feel like this is less about helping women and more about capitalizing on the idea of helping women.

Pros:

Simple, less chance of being harassed by guys.

Cons:

England-only, slow forum topics anyway.

Thanks for your feedback Jace. We're now starting work on building out our community but in our closed beta phase we invited members from our other community app which is mostly UK. It's true that we have some super engaged users already and as most of them joined within the last couple months we'll likely have more women reaching the same level of engagement in the near future. I created Shello from my own needs of finding a female support network and as a free app capitalizing on the idea of helping women is really far from the truth of why I set it up. If you;d like to talk more about it you can get me on hello@shello.com - thanks.
