Hey Product Hunt! 👋 Melvin here, founder of Scape.
As a founder, I’ve always felt overwhelmed by my inbox. In 2024, I was spending hours in Gmail, copy-pasting emails into ChatGPT. I wanted an inbox that could do more of that work without having to ask.
So I assembled a team and spent 18 months in a small office in Stockholm building Scape with early users. We’ve obsessed over reliability, speed, design, and making it feel great to use. We even deleted Slack for our team to exclusively communicate over email, to make sure we love using our own product.
During this time, it felt like a new AI email tool launched every week. Yet, to this day, most new users we talk to are using Gmail just as before. Models have become incredibly intelligent, yet email remains so manual.
Scape is designed to organize your inbox automatically, and prepare replies using context from your emails, meetings and files, in a Mac app.
Since we launched our invite-only Preview Release two months ago, thousands of people have started using Scape, including founders and teams at some of the world’s fastest-growing companies. Most of them stop going into Gmail entirely.
Today, we want to bring that experience to more people.

@melvinhagberg this looks really useful for managing emails without spending so much time on them especially the automatic follow ups and inbox organization
@shivam_kushwaha16 It really is! I personally would go under without the inbox organization.
Curious what you would want automatic follow ups for in your day-to-day?
This looks AMAZING! Excited to try it out. Quick question, can it also help me keep track of emails I need to follow up on?
@hilma_bengtsson Yes it does! Our AI automatically sets reminders on your email drafts, so if you don't receive a reply it will automatically resurface it for you at the right time.
Wow! So exciting! What is the number one killer feature, in your opinion?
@sara_landfors Number one is definitely solving the busy-inbox problem: I only see the email I need to actually view, for the emails I need to reply to I already have a pre-drafted response. As well as after meetings the things I need to act on are already prepared ready for me to approve.
And of course much more things to make it the last email app you will ever need :)
@sara_landfors @moritz_kindler for me personally, my number one feature is definitely the pre-drafted replies. I usually reply to 100+ emails in a day, so it's such a game changer.
@moritz_kindler @melvinhagberg Cool, and if you were to compare it to superhuman, how would you say you are different? Super cool product btw
@moritz_kindler @sara_landfors We've really designed Scape from scratch around LLM:s as a technology, and building on that foundation makes the product very different than having things like "shortcuts" as the core value proposition.
In Scape, we have purpose built AI to decide exactly which emails you need to see, and when. We use context from emails, meetings and now even apps (like Linear) to suggest responses, that you can just send.
I personally send 100+ emails per day, and at this point most of them are one-shotted by Scape, and I don't need to see any other emails than only the important ones.
Are you a Superhuman user?
Looks awesome! How does this compare to Google AI inbox?
@petersuperunit From our testing and talking to users that tried Google AI inbox or Scape we heard mixed feelings about the AI inbox. The most common response we hear is that the comprehension of just having a chat-like interface for emails is removing control and overview over your inbox.
We focus a lot on making the core interface of email adapted to AI in a very balanced approach, that a lot of users can get behind as using for their day to day work.
What is your opinion about Google's AI inbox? Curious to hear!
Hey Product Hunt!
I’m Moritz, founding engineer at Scape.
Melvin covered why we built Scape, so I wanted to share some product decisions we made to make Scape feel proactive and effortless.
Proactive by default. We believe deeply in building the interface where the real work happens. This meant building an architecture that runs agent flows the moment you receive an email so drafts and meeting follow-ups are just waiting for your approval to be sent.
Speed and small details that compound. To be the fastest email client in the world we made Scape local-first, which meant building our own sync engine from the ground up. This makes interactions instant and has the nice side effect of being able to use the app offline.
A local native meeting recorder. We wanted to support recording any call, from Zoom meetings to FaceTime calls. What started as a simple idea required four full rewrites from scratch. For the final solution, we tuned our own echo cancellation model in C++, with help from the Google Meet founding team who, as it turns out, are based just a few hundred meters away from us in Stockholm.
Most of all, we care about craft in every part of the product.
Ask us anything about how we built Scape. I’m happy to answer anything!
Moved to Scape a few months ago and not going back. It's fast, and all the small things just work really well. I live in my email, and feedback given to the team here is incorporated in the product in days or even hours. I'm rooting hard for this team.
@sokvam Thanks a lot Sondre, we're always happy to fix your product feedback fast. Appreciate the support!
@sokvam Thanks Sondre, this means a lot! And thanks for all the feedback along the way. Really glad you're enjoying Scape 🙏
@sokvam Thank you so much for the kind words. Your feedback has helped us improve the product a lot!
Running startup sales is chaotic, scape is helping me find zen in that chaos 🧘
@axel_larsson1 Peace of mind has been one of our goals to achieve with Scape, where using your inbox doesn't feel like a negative part of your day but the thing you look forward to!
@axel_larsson1 Awesome to hear, that's really what we are aiming to help with. I'm personally pretty unorganized at times, and having Scape help me keep track of things has helped a lot.
