What do you think? …

Silver Alcid
RSSence was created in response to a request on r/SomebodyMakeThis, bringing to life the idea of a beautifully animated, fullscreen RSS visualizer. Inspired by classic RSS screensavers from the past, RSSence transforms your screen into a dynamic news hub, displaying headlines in a visually engaging way—think flipping cards, smooth transitions, and modern design. It’s an open-source, free tool designed for anyone who wants to bring their favorite feeds to life, whether on a TV, monitor, or secondary display.

RSSence could streamline my news consumption. What features do you think will enhance productivity the most?

Silver Alcid

@william_jin The core strength lies in its ability to effortlessly track any RSS source. I think this is especially valuable for fast-moving topics like finance and crypto, where real-time updates matter. It’s also ideal for monitoring other time-sensitive subjects that still benefit from human oversight. That kind of flexibility and focus can really boost productivity by cutting down the noise and delivering exactly what you need to see, when you need to see it.

💡 Bright idea

Have you thought about offering a (paid) hosted solution on a custom domain?(For non technical users, asking for a friend. :-) )

Silver Alcid

@tomm_p I would absolutely consider it and this isn't the first time someone has asked. Can you tell me more about why that would be beneficial? It's already hosted for public usage, is it more of a privacy concern?

Tom P.

@silveralcid it's because my friend :-) doesn't know what do do when looking at the GitHub page.

And I could add it to my niche website and add a "news" subdomain with a niche specific news feed.

Silver Alcid

@tomm_p Ah, I see. Interesting use-case! I will 100% look into this.

@silveralcid  in any case, a documentation/ tutorial how to set up rssence may be helpful...

Feature suggestion: show two or four sets of feeds next to each other?

Luke Dunsmore

This is awesome - been looking for a tool like this for a while. Congrats on the launch!

Extremely excited to contribute on the open source code. Nice concept Team, who does not want to have no politics news, maybe more positive news of locality, world. And something related to our interests or our work. Nice man

I would not leave a chance to ask for myself to work with you. I really loved this thing.
