Would be cool if doubled as an adapter AND had a bot that sent an automatic email and Tweet to Comcast or whoever your provider is telling them they are the worst companies in the world

@rueter I'd probably pay $59.99 for that alone
Or buy an eero and don't worry about it. 😜 cc @nsweaves
@rrhoover @nsweaves Eero still needs to connect to your modem I think? wifi outtages are almost always because of the ISP's service failing and the modem needing to be power cycled, which affects all routers, Eero's included. This is pretty genius, but realistically you will need to minimally buy 2. One to cycle the modem, then the router.
@wuss It does say on the website that you could hook it up to a surge protector to use it with multiple devices, which you should be using with a router/modem anyway.
@pandemicmoon I considered that, but the problem is that in a modem-> router power cycle process, you have to cycle them in steps, not all at once. i.e. make sure the modem is fully powered and pulling a WAN IP prior to powering on your router. I don't know if many routers do or not, but the ones I have owned are not able to pull the modems WAN IP if the router is powered own prior to modem having one.
@wuss I didn't consider that, it would be interesting to see if you could time it to be sure to restart the modem first with two Reset Plugs. I suppose the ideal solution for this product would be an all-in-one router/modem, but they do claim to work with any router/modem/AP with just one plug. I wonder what their support team has to say on the issue.
@pandemicmoon my guess is their response is "buy two", which is fine w/ me :)
Note that the ResetPlug only uses the 2.4GHz band for WiFi. So if your network is set to 5GHz, this won't work. I also have had trouble getting it set up because I have a dual band Apple Airport network (with Apple repeaters) through my home. But the idea is great and once I get it working it, it is going to be great!
Simple idea but genius.
Lol I saw this in a tweet by @internetofshit 😜
