Jacob Binnie
Hey hunters! I'm Jacob, a co-founder at Repobear. Bit of a back story... I'm a full stack developer in NYC and have been building a developer Youtube channel over the past year. I came across the need to share private repositories with a large number of people and realised there's just no super clean way to achieve this... So we built Repobear. With Repobear you can generate sharable links, manage user access, accept payments and share your private repositories securely at scale. You can even disable cloning. Boom. You might be wondering what specific use cases you'd use Repobear? Here's some examples... 1. You have a killer web app you're working on in secret. You want to share a link to a handful of recruiters as you apply to jobs but there's no way to know each recruiter's Github email. Simply generate a share link and you're good to go. 2. You upload developer tutorials to a large Youtube following and want to paywall access to a basket of repositories. You set the price to a one-time-fee of $17. 3. You want to share your startup's private codebase with a few VC firms prior to a raise. You're not sure who specifically needs access but you can keep track of who is accessing your code within the Repobear dashboard. You also want to prevent cloning so you'd rather not assign collaborator access inside Github. 4. You want to share code with peers. But you don't want them to clone the repo. You simply generate a URL and disable cloning. 5. You want to share a private repository with a specific company. Limit access to only those who are part of a certain domain (eg. jim@company.com) + and the list goes on. We're currently building a waitlist so hop on board! We'd love to hear your feedback, ideas and critical features you'd love to see as we developer the product ❤️ ⚡️ Join the waitlist: https://repobear.com

Congratulations on the launch! 🎉 The use cases you've outlined are spot on, and I can already see how Repobear could streamline so many workflows. From sharing code with recruiters to paywalling tutorials, this tool seems incredibly versatile. Keep up the amazing work!

💡 Bright idea
Hey, love the idea of your product as I already had the same idea and am super excited someone did it. If you had offered one time lifetime pricing of let's say 99$ I'd bought, but this yearly thing is not for me unless it makes sense like ongoing cost on the provider side.
Mihailo Bozic
@michacassola so glad you're a true believer that you're willing to pay for lifetime access! Jacob and I have talked about this in length and the reason we can't do lifetime pricing is that lifetime heavy bandwith usage would be an expensive service to fulfill and we're not sure how to price that correctly on a lifetime plan so we defaulted to yearly.
Micha Cassola
@mihailo_bozic1 Ah ok, so you do have ongoing cost. So the whole git traffic goes through your servers? I thought you might offer a self-hostable product?

Have been following you for a while now and really love this. What I like the most is the how organized everything is (also less anxiety inducing 😅)
Mihailo Bozic
@huma_mumtaz UX is everything! Thanks for being part of the journey for so long :D
