👋 Hello Product Hunt community! I'm incredibly proud to launch Remember with Amber—a project that started very close to home and quickly became a mission. This project started from a very personal place. My father-in-law began showing early signs of dementia. It was heartbreaking to see his world shrink as his memory faded, leading to isolation. We realized that generic "brain games" weren't enough; the connection needs to be deeply personal. 💛 Our Mission: Combatting Isolation with Personal Memory Remember with Amber is a private, family-focused tool designed to make memory care meaningful and effortless for both the senior and the caretaker. - The Problem We Solve: Traditional memory tools are generic, but memory itself is personal. We replace random word lists with personal content—like photos of their own grandchildren for matching games—to spark true, meaningful recall and keep vital neural pathways active. - A Bridge, Not a Burden: We focus on helping the overwhelmed caretaker. We’ve removed friction by simplifying setup (exploring contact list integration) and creating "Evergreen Games" that automatically cycle through different family photos, keeping the content fresh without requiring daily effort from the family. - Fitting into Your Lives: We learned real families communicate via text, not complex apps. We optimized our progress sharing to be easily sent via a quick screenshot or text message. We truly believe that by helping aging loved ones hold onto the things (and people) dearest to their hearts, we can push back against isolation. It is free to use for the time being as we learn, improve, and listen to real families using it. We'd love to hear your thoughts and experiences: For those who have navigated memory care: - What was the biggest barrier you faced in finding tools that truly helped with meaningful engagement? - What is one simple feature you wish existed to help busy caretakers stay connected and informed? Thank you for checking out Remember with Amber! Happy to answer any questions or hear your stories 💛
