This can be useful for customization but this service uses videos hosted on Youtube/Dailymotion and — according to the website — will add its own ads for monetization and share revenue with users. You can easily imagine that it costs money to Youtube/others because they still host the videos, how can it works? I hope the founders will jump in the conversation because I'm a little bit confused there.
@syswarren Hi Julie, I'm Alex founder of reEmbed. We do not interfere with YouTube placing ads during the video
@papaspiridis ok! Thanks :) Does your shared revenues come from Youtube or do you have your own ads?
I've been wondering when something like this was gonna be built. Looks great and can't wait to try this out on a project.
@jadlimcaco thanks for your support. Don't hesitate to get in touch if you need anything else!
That's awesome. Looks like it can compete with wistia.com
@Jonnotie really glad you like it! Looking forward to your feedback!
Very cool.
@john Thanks John, please let us know what you think!
Looks like a great product, very polished. I'm a bit confused how they make money though.
@_jacksmith it seems they are going the ad platform route. Right on their homepage: "Make Money with Ads - Monetize your videos with a variety of ad formats including pre-rolls, post-rolls, and overlays." I love the simplicity of the product, but that voice over though... A little too monotone for me. I judged the hell out of it immediately lol. Thought it was a scrappy MVP until I see that Oracle uses it + the # of video's they have served changed that perception.
Hi @_jacksmith we will be offering premium accounts where users get to remove our watermark and use our ad manager to manage ads on their players
@acoyfellow thanks! Agree on the video comments, we're working on a better one!
