@freakynit2@mikepreuss LICEcap has way better compression/quality. It's also more intuitive than RecordIt, which forces you to pull up a webpage to view the GIF. No thanks.

@mohammedalaa I am a paid user of Recordit & love it on my MacPro. I am facing an issue wherein the "mouse pointer" is appearing as an enlarged magnified image while I publish my recordings. is this a bug ? or how do I make sure it appears normally...Kindly help. @MohammedAlaa i'm getting stuck with this after i'm done capping: . seems to be perma-uploading, though my cap was sub 1 min. is this a known issue?
EDIT: seems to have fixed itself. had the issue a couple times, but not having it now. :)
I recently asked a friend if there was a tool to easily turn a screen capture into an animated GIF and then BOOM! Recordit popped up.

Love this tool. Super helpful for demonstrating software defects to engineers instead of describing with text.

Brilliant tool. Ive been using screencast-o-matic (which despite the cheesy name isn't actually that bad) but this is way better for short clips to paste into hipchat/trello or what not!
