Local-first document management for macOS with device sync

Tired of uploading sensitive financial documents to cloud services? Receipts Space stores everything locally on your Mac and syncs via your own folders (iCloud Drive, Dropbox, NAS). What sets it apart: • End-to-end encryption protects your data with your own password • OCR extracts amounts, dates, taxes, and IBANs automatically • Self-learning classification assigns contacts and categories • Supports e-invoices (XRechnung/ZUGFeRD), scans, emails, PDFs • Optional audit compliance (GoBD)

What do you think? …

Dirk Holtwick
Hi everyone! As a freelancer, I was frustrated with two options: either upload sensitive invoices to cloud services I don't fully trust, or drown in folder chaos on my Mac. So I built Receipts Space around these principles: 1. Your data stays yours: Everything runs locally. No external servers ever see your documents. 2. Encrypted when shared: Store your library on iCloud Drive or Dropbox with end-to-end encryption – only you have the key. 3. Multi-Mac without headaches: Work on the same library from multiple Macs simultaneously. 4. Let OCR do the boring stuff: Automatic extraction of amounts, dates, tax rates, and even IBANs. The app learns which receipts belong to which contacts over time. 5. Let the app do the work: OCR reads your documents, extracts the important data, and learns which receipts belong to which contacts and categories. Curious how you handle your receipts today – still using folders, spreadsheets, or a cloud service? What's the biggest pain point? Would love to hear how you manage your receipts today. What features would make your workflow easier?
