RawToHEIC converts camera RAW and ProRAW files to HEIC right from the Photos share sheet on iPhone, iPad, and Mac — up to 10× smaller, with edits, albums, and metadata intact. Entirely on-device: no uploads, no account, no analytics.
Hey Product Hunt 👋
I shoot a lot of RAW and kept hitting the same wall: a 2,500-photo library eating 80+ GB, and the only fixes were deleting photos or dropping to JPEG in-camera. Neither felt good.
RawToHEIC lives in the Photos share sheet. Select some RAWs, see exactly how much space you'd get back before anything happens, and decide per batch whether originals stay or go. Nothing is deleted until the HEIC is written and verified in your library.
Everything runs on your device — no uploads, no account, no analytics. Supports CR3, ARW, NEF, RAF, ORF, RW2, PEF, DNG/ProRAW and more, keeps your Photos edits and HDR gain maps, and works with iCloud Photos.
Free for 50 conversions a day. Unlimited is $19.99 once, or $9.99/year — one purchase covers iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
Happy to answer anything, and genuinely keen for feedback on which formats or workflows to tackle next.

How are you doing these? Can you explain the tech behind this..

raw is 12 to 14 bit and heic can carry 10 through hevc main 10, but plenty of converters quietly write 8, and you dont find that out until a clean sky bands on you months later with the original already gone. the fix id ship is the output bit depth sitting right on the confirm screen next to the space saved number, because thats the actual trade a raw shooter is agreeing to and space alone doesnt tell them. i went through the listing twice and couldnt find it stated anywhere @sgumz
