Hi Product Hunt, I’m Ben, and I made Rate.fm. I really wanted a Letterboxd for music: a place where I could rate the records I listen to out of ten. I couldn’t find any very pretty iPhone apps, so I made one in SwiftUI and UIKit for iOS 26.
What it is:
Song and album ratings and reviews
A listening diary with Spotify and Apple Music integration
Critic scores and reviews from 19 publications
Lists and folders
A player synced with lyrics and Genius annotations
Live Activity and widgets for seeing what your friends are listening to
It’s free. There’s an optional $2.99 a month support badge.
If you already have your listening history somewhere else, there’s one tap to import it from Musicboard or Spotify. I’ll read everything, so let me know what’s missing from the app.
I'm an indie app dev too. Since you went iOS 26+ only, I'm curious if you're planning anything for the iPhone Duo's bigger inner display, like a two-column layout for reviews?
Letterboxd for music is such an obvious gap once you see it. The listening diary is the part I'd actually use — half the fun of an album is remembering where you were when it clicked. Hope the Spotify side gets full parity with Apple Music.
