Happy 2026 everyone!

The Qwen team was still shipping on the very last day of 2025, once again refreshing the SOTA baseline for open-source text-to-image models.

As the latest iteration of Qwen-Image, this model brings a significant boost in photorealism, greatly reducing that typical AI-generated look, while also delivering major upgrades in reasoning and text rendering.

A perfect New Year's gift for the open source community!🥳

Here is a fun clip showcasing Qwen's impressive year :)

@zaczuo I have to say this. Here I am getting updates of closed models breaking benchmark from so many sources and you keep picking open source gems that are so good at what they do! Thank you so much for informing me of these excellent open source alternatives. I now look forward to getting up every morning to see what you hunt! Thanks again!

@zaczuo Great launch love seeing SOTA capabilities remain open source. Curious how you’re thinking about security boundaries between fast vs deep modes in production: preventing state leakage, prompt injection, or tool abuse, especially for agentic use cases. Open models bring huge power at the integration layer, and it’d be great to learn your recommended guardrails.

Think deeper or act faster clearly signals a reasoning ↔ speed tradeoff, and Qwen’s momentum plus open approach makes this interesting for real-world apps. Curious to see more benchmarks and dev adoption stories beyond reviews.

Congrats on the Qwen3 launch - the “think deeper or act faster” positioning is very clear and compelling. It’s interesting to see the emphasis on balancing reasoning depth with responsiveness in a single model family. The strong early feedback and adoption signal real momentum. Curious how you see developers choosing between modes in real production use cases.

The results from this model are truly impressive. While there is still a noticeable gap compared to Banana Pro, it is undoubtedly one of the best AI image generation models out of China right now.

Awesome launch! Qwen3’s hybrid “thinking” mode and open-source approach are really impressive. One thing I noticed: there are some reports of hallucination and factual errors in certain use cases — especially in deep reasoning tasks. If you’re looking to improve reliability or benchmarking insights, I’d love to share ideas on enhancing accuracy

Insane image quality from open-source model — the details are mind-blowing. I'm building Ghostpen (template-based AI copywriter, launching on PH Jan 6) and thinking about adding image generation for social posts. This is inspiring! Upvoted.
