We are a 100% women owned company based out of Denver Colorado, are looking to become a certified B-Corp by hiring local, supporting our community and using recycled plastic from the ocean. We love adventuring with our dogs and couldn't be more excited to be able to not only work with them every day but for them as well! Site says its BTLE for connectivity, is it zigbee as well? Very little if any of my iot home equipment is BTLE based. Are you planning on having a separate hub just for the device? If not how does out of home monitoring work? Other than (dog) motion how is this better than having environmental sensors like nest cam and thermostat?

@jaredzimmerman Great questions! We have partnered with a company that allows us to connect with any smart device in their cloud, no matter the protocol. We chose BLE because of the value our collar attachment has when away from the house; activity monitoring and BLE tracking. We will plan on having a low cost hub available once we fully launch. What's great is if users have a tablet or computer they leave at home, a hub isn't necessary! We are developing routines that connect with the devices you already have (such as your Nest Cam and Thermostat) to do things such as, if your dog has been barking for 15 seconds, to notify you with your Nest Cam.

@barnabybones My guess is a Corgi will have the flattest back to set your laptop on, but they tend to wiggle a lot. The top smartest dog breeds are Boarder Collie, Poodle and German Shepard. 😉
