Having used AI tools for over a year, I've identified two essential daily AI needs: a conversational chatbot and customizable tool bots for specific tasks like concept explanation, email composition, marketing copy generation, styled comment creation, and prompt engineering. While platforms like ChatGPT, Claude, and POE offer these features (I've subscribed to them all), I find the tab-switching interaction cumbersome. Browser extensions seemed promising, but most quality ones use a sidebar interface, whereas I prefer a popup format. Moreover, both web platforms and browser extensions typically charge fixed monthly subscriptions around $20 or more, regardless of actual usage. These experiences motivated me to create Popai - a popup-style browser extension powered by Openrouter API for accessing mainstream language models. It includes built-in text-generation tools and features for custom tools, knowledge base, and document references. Additional features like Web Search, Web scraping, and file-to-markdown conversion are in development. Your feedback on needed features is welcome. This AI tool was born from a desire to enhance personal productivity, and it has successfully achieved that goal while maintaining potential for further improvement. I'm now sharing it with the community, hoping to assist others with similar preferences. The subscription model is divided into 3 tiers based on AI usage patterns. The free plan should meet most users' needs, while the pro and premium plans remain affordable as they don't include free LLM API calls. Thank you for reading. Hope you enjoy it.
