@matteo_ricupero Been tracking since your launch. Congrats. Do you have a command palette like Arc? And is there an Arc import? And is there 1Password support?
Matteo Ricupero

@kenyarmosh

Hi Ken, thanks for following Pola's journey!

  • Command palette: Yes there is a Cmd+T shortcut to open the palette and it’s very useful, but I want to add to it “Favorites” and more soon to make navigation faster.

  • Arc import: No import tool yet but I’m working on it. Let me know if this is a priority for you!

  • 1Password support: I tested it but it’s not fully working yet. Some APIs need adjustments. I’ll update when will be ready!

Thanks for your support!

Currently, the supported experimental extensions (such as UBlock Origin Lite) are still relatively limited. I am really looking forward to the official extension store becoming more enriched as soon as possible. If the AI sidebar tool can directly integrate some mainstream AI services (such as ChatGPT) instead of just connecting to the "preferred service", its practicality will be greatly enhanced.

@ironliuyi

Hi Yi thanks for your feedback!

Extensions: I’m working to add more extensions to the compatibility list. It takes time but I'll keep expanding the list. Let me know which ones you would like to see first!

The sidebar is designed to connect to your preferred AI service via web, but I'll look into adding direct integrations like ChatGPT. This could make it even more useful for users!

Your suggestions help a lot, thanks for using Pola!

Long Wang

It clearly promises "not to sell data and not to track", and it hosts anonymous data in the EU, which makes me feel quite reassured. The password management is directly integrated with Apple Keychain, making it very seamless to use. However, I hope it can support third - party mainstream password managers like Bitwarden as soon as possible.

@long_wang4

Hi Long thanks for your feedback! I’m glad you feel reassured by my commitment to privacy and great to hear Apple Keychain integration it’s working seamlessly for you!

About third-party password managers, Bitwarden support is already available as an experimental extension. You can enable it in the settings, I'm also working on improving compatibility with other password managers!

Let me know if you need help setting it up!

Loved it Matteo! It super interesting. How do you monetize it?
Matteo Ricupero

@german_merlo1

Thank you so much Germàn! It has a 3 days free trial then you can choose between two plans, yearly plan at 19,99€/year or Lifetime license at 49,99€ ;)

A productivity browser for Mac needs to be light on RAM, so I’m mainly wondering if Pola is more resource-efficient than Chrome. Also, does it have any built-in ad blockers, or do we need to rely on the extensions for that?

Matteo Ricupero

@yp_john

Hi John, thanks for your interest in Pola!

Pola is built to be lightweight and uses less RAM compared to Chrome since it's optimized like Safari.

There are no built in ad blockers and you'll need to rely on extensions like uBlock Origin, which is supported in Pola.

Try it out and see how it performs for you. Let me know if you have more questions!

Melvyn

Hey, it's really nice, but paying for a browser seems like a dangerous strategy as all the others are always free. But I like the idea, just replace ChatGPT on the side with Claude 💃

Matteo Ricupero

@melvynxdev

Hi Melvyn, thanks for trying Pola!

I understand the concern. Most browsers are free but they often rely on data or ads. Pola is built for users searching for productivity and the free trial lets you test everything before deciding.

You can connect Claude or any AI service you prefer, the sidebar is flexible so you can use what works best for you!

Thanks for your feedback!

Thea Winslow

It’s great that it supports Bitwarden and Proton Pass right out of the box, since I can't live without my password managers. I wonder if it supports other Chrome extensions too, and how reliable the cloud sync is when switching between different Macs.

Matteo Ricupero

@theaxx

Hi Thea, thanks for your question!

Bitwarden and Proton Pass are supported as experimental extensions. I’m working to add more Chrome extensions in the future but for now only a few are available. Let me know which ones you need and I'll prioritize them.

Pola uses Google Drive to keep your data aligned across devices. It's reliable but you need to be signed into the same Google account on all your Macs.

If you face any issues I'm here to help!
