PeckApp is an app I've been working on for a long time with two team members with the goal of making sharing contact info easier! The idea came in college where I had the problem of an annoying contact sharing process when meeting others. PeckApp fixes it.

Nice little product. I like how I can choose which socials to share instead of being just one size fits all. I think this is more nuanced than say airdrop. What prompted you to build this?

@dan_c2 Thank you! Glad you like it. My cofounders and I are all freshmen in college, and during our first weeks we were meeting a lot of new faces and realized that the process of giving someone your phone number was outdated. You would've had to type in your number, wait until they texted you, and then both people would have contact info. It was a cumbersome process that we thought could be improved. We also recognized that when we meet people, we aren't just made up of our phone number but we also can be reached on all these other social media. So we thought we'd make an app that would be what we like to call your digital handshake. When you Peck somebody, you're sharing you, however you would like to define that.

PeckApp was so much fun to work on. Hopefully people see the use in it that we do. Especially as a college student. I am always meeting new people and engaging in conversation with them across multiple platforms. Having PeckApp the first weeks of college would have been the dream. Hope everyone enjoys it as much as we did making it. We think that it could help tons of people!

@christopher_lee4 that is totally for the user to decide. When we beta tested the app, people told us about all the situations they used this app. One was when they met someone in a class, they wanted to share both their email and phone number - one for sharing class resources and the other to talk about due dates, etc. Another use case was at parties and social events, people wanted to be able to share instagram and snapchat or even Venmo just in case they had shared an Uber with other people. We wanted to give the users freedom to be able to share whatever they wanted to, which gave them the ability to define how they wanted the person they met to view them.
