One True Rock is a search engine to help you find the optimal diamond for your budget: the biggest, best quality and best value for your money. We founded One True Rock after we bought engagement rings and wished for an easier way.

Buying diamonds is hard. We are two engineers who recently bought engagements rings. The process was stressful: we had never done it before, there is some social pressure, it was a significant purchase, dealing with certain diamond stores felt slimy. We created One True Rock to help you find the optimal diamond for your budget: the biggest, best quality and best value for money. Simple. Enter your budget and we show you recommended diamonds. In the background we scan hundreds of thousands of diamonds, analyzing them and narrowing down to the ones worth your time. While we hope to never buy another engagement diamond, our goal is for this site to help others find the best diamond for their loved ones. Let us know what you think.

As a guy who likes to do insane amounts of research before making any serious purchase, I'm definitely bookmarking One True Rock for when the time is right. I wouldn't have even known where to start. Awesome stuff. My future wife thanks you guys in advance.

"We then use algorithsm". Algorithm is spelled wrong on your home page. Just FYI

Does this only suggest traditional mined diamonds, or does it include other stones and synthetic diamonds?

I bought an engagement ring from Blue Nile in December (thankfully she said yes), and this would've been a great tool at the time. I would definitely recommend adding cut options (princess, cushion, etc) and, if possible, additional gemstones. Integrating with estimated insurance value could also be useful, as a high[er/est] quality diamond will retain greater value than a larger off-white & cloudy stone, even if the two cost the same at first. Great work clearly displaying the data and building a convenient and useful tool
