Code Reproducibility Simplified

Source code is not enough. To reproduce the behavior of an application, one needs to look beyond code into infrastructure. Ogre.run automates the generation of configuration files to guarantee your projects are reproducible in any system.

Hi everybody! Today I am making the public release of Ogre.run for code reproducibility! I've been working on this since the beginning of 2024 and after several private beta testers, it is finally time to share it with a broader audience. Ogre was made to help developers to guarantee their code is reproducible, by anyone, anywhere. The cool thing about this tool is that it automatically generates and keeps track of the configuration files necessary to run a specific codebase. After connecting my GitHub account, I can select the repositories I want it to track. This is great for scientists, who usually don't have DevOps skills, and platform engineers, who are focused on code consistency and reproducibility. I would love to hear what you think and how we can improve it for the developer community.

Ogre.run looks like a super helpful tool! As a developer, code consistency is always tricky, especially when sharing across teams. Love the idea of automatic config tracking with GitHub integration. Can't wait to try it out.

@wlopes this sounds really useful! Exactly the kind of tool I've been looking for. I'm curious though--does it work smoothly with any kind of repo, or are there certain limitations? Super excited to try it out!

@jonathanmichaelblake Thanks!! Great to hear your are interested. We are currently focusing mainly on Python-based repos (we come from ML/AI, so this is our turf), but we are working on pilots with companies to get full functionality on languages like Java and C++. It is still the very beginning for us, but we are progressing fast. Happy to answer any further questions you. might have.
