Odyssey turns Homer’s epic into a reflective journey across fourteen fixed shores. The route never changes; your words do. GPT-5.6 interprets your choices through Homer, bounded divine encounters, Journey Memory, and a final return at Ithaca. Unlike trivia or branching fan fiction, Odyssey preserves the architecture of the classic while making it personal, replayable, and returnable.

I finished it. I'm not familiar with Odyssey. But I noticed there weren't many scenarios, and sometimes my decisions had no impact on the plot at all. The AI didn't understand my decisions the way I wanted. Add the ability to share your walkthrough with friends; that would be interesting. Overall, you've created an interesting project. And regarding background sound, right now there's only one, Sea Sound. Make a different sound for each island, like where the sirens are, let sirens sing, or where Hermes offers a feast, let there be the sound of a feast, and so on.
@masterbek
Thank you so much for taking the time to finish the entire journey, especially since you were not already familiar with The Odyssey. Your feedback is genuinely valuable, and I plan to address it in the next development phase.
This version had to be frozen for the Global Build Week submission, so I reached a point where I had to stop adding features and submit what was complete. I had actually planned several of the things you mentioned, but simply ran out of time. :)
One was a short onboarding layer for people who do not know the original epic, so they can understand where they are in the journey and why each island matters without needing prior knowledge.
I also wanted each island to have its own soundscape rather than using the same sea ambience throughout—the Sirens singing in the distance, the Cyclops’ cave, Hermes’ feast, Calypso’s island, Ithaca, and so on. Your comment confirms that this would make the world feel much more distinct and alive.
The choice system was also intended to become more consequential. The route itself would remain fixed, but choices would carry different weights through the Divine and Luna layers—for example chance versus fate, a guardian deity versus an opposing deity, or accepting temptation versus showing restraint. Those patterns would then produce different consequences and encounters across later islands, rather than only returning at the very end.
I also really like your suggestion about sharing the completed walkthrough. A shareable journey or Journey Card would make it much easier for people to compare how differently they travelled through the same story.
Thank you again for finishing it and giving such thoughtful, specific feedback. This is exactly the kind of response I hoped to receive from launching it publicly.
Is there a Russian version?
@masterbek Not yet — Odyssey is currently available in English.
A Russian edition would need more than a direct translation, because the experience depends on Homer’s literary voice, memory, and interpretation. But I’d love to explore it. Would you be interested in testing a Russian version if I build one?
@crystal32378 If you let me try it for free )
@masterbek Odyssey is already free :) So you have a deal — try it and give me your honest feedback.
@crystal32378 Deal
@masterbek Actually, I’m even more excited by the idea of creating an experience based on Russian literature than simply translating Odyssey. Would you be interested in one inspired by Pushkin? I’ve always loved his poetry, and I’d be curious which of his works you think would suit this format best.
