Nox is a quieter social app built around moments instead of audiences. Share thoughts, photos, and short videos privately or publicly. Discover introduces a few people each day through a card-based ritual rather than an endless feed. Conversations begin from shared moments, not cold DMs. No follower counts. No public likes. No pressure to perform. Just moments, discovery, and genuine connections.

The limited daily discovery is a good constraint. Most social apps make you keep scrolling, so a slower card-based flow feels better suited for actual conversations instead of just performing for attention.

@farrukh_butt1 Thanks, that’s exactly what we were thinking about while designing Discover.
Many social apps optimize for keeping people scrolling, which often creates more content consumption but not necessarily more meaningful interactions.
We wanted discovery to feel intentional rather than endless. Limiting the number of people and moments you see each day encourages slower decisions and hopefully leads to conversations that start from genuine interest instead of impulse.
Really appreciate you noticing that aspect of the design.

I like the idea, good launch :)
You could maybe add a coin system so that users can see the other 3 un-flipped cards. and they have to do challenges or P2W for coins lol

@peterz_shu Thanks! 😄
Funny enough, this is something we debated quite a lot while designing Discover.
We felt that meeting people isn’t only about matching interests — there should also be a little room for chance, luck, and serendipity. The idea behind showing four cards and asking you to choose one is to encourage people to slow down, spend a bit more time with each person’s moment, and make a more intentional decision.
We did consider different ways of unlocking additional cards. The concern was that if every card could eventually be revealed, people might value each discovery less. Part of the experience is that you only get one choice, and that choice carries a little weight. We also wanted to avoid turning social discovery into something that feels too transactional or driven by spending.
That said, your suggestion sparked a different thought for us. Instead of using a coin system to unlock more people, it might be interesting to use it after a connection has already been made — as part of shared activities, playful interactions, or collaborative experiences between two people. That could make the journey feel like more than just chatting and sharing moments.
The idea is still pretty fuzzy right now, but you’ve definitely given us something worth exploring. Thanks for the inspiration!
