Notch Radio turns your MacBook's notch into a live radio. Hover it and it morphs into a full player with album art, real track titles and transport controls. Move away and it folds back into the hardware. Thousands of stations from the Radio Browser directory. Free for ever with five stations. One payment unlocks the rest: $9.99 at launch until 19 October, then $19.99. Nothing renews. No account, no analytics, no server. A notch is not required.

Hi Product Hunt,
We build small Mac software at Unicrow. Notch Radio came out of a habit rather than a plan: one of us keeps a radio stream running all day, and every radio app wanted a window for it. A window you minimise, then lose, then hunt for in Mission Control when the track changes.
So we put the radio in the notch.
Collapsed, Notch Radio is a thin pill against the notch. Hover it and it opens into a peek card, then a full player with artwork, live track titles and controls. Move the pointer away and it folds back.
What makes it different from other radio apps:
• The player is not a window. It lives in the notch, one hover away from whatever you are doing.
• It knows what is playing. Track titles are read live from the broadcast itself, with album art found for each song.
• No account, no server. No analytics, no ads, no tracking; nothing about what you listen to is ever sent to us.
• You pay once. No subscription, nothing renews.
And unlike most notch apps, it does one thing: radio.
Also in the box:
• Thousands of stations from the Radio Browser community directory, searchable by name or genre. The app ships none of its own, so your library holds only what you chose
• Now Playing and your keyboard's media keys
• Full keyboard control in the player
• Launch at login, with your last station ready
• No notch? It draws one sized to your menu bar. macOS 14 or later
What it costs, plainly:
• Free, for ever: up to 5 stations. Save up to five. Until you have five, you can play anything in the directory; once you have five, those five are what you play. No account, no time limit, and nothing you are listening to ever stops.
• $9.99 once: everything else. Unlimited stations to save and play, live track titles, per-song album art, stations added by stream URL, country filtering, every page of search results, and the placement options, including the menu bar instead of the notch. Nothing renews. $9.99 is the launch price until 19 October; after that it is $19.99.
• 14-day free trial of the paid half, inside the app. A trial started this week ends after the launch price does.
► Download from Mac App Store
For the Product Hunt community: ten codes that unlock everything, free, first come first served. Each code works once, so if one has already been taken, try the next. To redeem, open the App Store, click your name at the bottom left, then Redeem Gift Card or Code.
I'll be checking in through the day and will answer everything. Tell me which station you'd put in the notch first, and anything odd on your setup, especially an external display or a Mac with no notch.

@fatihturan the hover to open, move away to fold back thing is neat. no window to lose in Mission Control when the track changes
Congrats on the launch!
Remote worker here who keeps the radio on all day, so this one actually speaks to me hahah!
One time payment with no subscription is a breath of fresh air... Honestly might be the best part of the pricing page! Upvoted!
Hey @kastelicjakob, I’m glad you liked it! I tried to create something simple, without things like account creation or subscriptions, which I think users will appreciate.
Thank you for your comment!
