Hey Product Hunt! 👋 I'm Ymsniper, and I just launched NoEyes — my take on truly private terminal chat. What inspired me? I was tired of "E2EE" chat apps where the server (or whoever runs it) can still read your messages, metadata, or even force-decrypt if they want. I wanted something I could self-host for friends/small teams where privacy is mathematical — the server is blind by design, no keys, no plaintext ever. What problem was I solving? Make secure group/private chat + file sharing that's: 100% end-to-end (blind forwarder only) Terminal-native (no web bloat) Dead simple to run yourself (one script, cross-platform) Actually fun in CLI (colors, sounds, alert tags like !danger) How my approach evolved? Started with basic TCP + Fernet groups. Added X25519/Ed25519 for 1:1 + TOFU identity checks. Hardened crypto (HKDF, PBKDF2, AES-GCM files). Built guided launcher, self-updater, bore.pub quick deploy, notification tags/sounds/animations.
