Hey Product Hunt! šŸ‘‹šŸ» @austin_piel and I are excited to share momo with everyone today. momo is a personal finance app that helps you find which credit card will earn you the most rewards. Our mission is to end impersonal financial recommendations and empower you to achieve your financial goals faster. Shortly after graduating from college, Austin and I were searching for our first 'adult' credit card and found the process time-consuming and unnecessarily confusing. With this in mind, we built momo to cut the noise so anyone could find which card was best for them. momo allows you to: šŸ”®Ā Find which card will earn you the most in rewards šŸŖ„Ā Compare up to 5 different offers at once šŸ“ŠĀ Track your reward earnings by category and card 🚪 Monitor your rotating perks & bonuses šŸ“†Ā Stay on top of your annual fee due date šŸŽ—ļøĀ Set up bill reminders Thank you @kevin for hunting us, our beta testers for being our first believers, and our investors for taking a chance on us. Download momo now on the App Store & Google Play store!

@austin_piel @kevin @sean_grossman3 Each time I see momo, I upvote šŸ˜Ž Seriously, great job guys, the product is getting better and better. Love those little tweaks you did with the UX.

@austin_piel @kevin @eugenehp Thank Eugene! Excited to talk next share more about our plans with the AwesomeFintech community :)

Clever idea. Why does this need to be a mobile app though? Wouldn't it be less friction to simply navigate to a site and auth with Plaid?
Sean Grossman
@rrhoover, thanks for your support! In 2020 we saw 52% of credit card applications come from a phone or tablet (2021 Consumer Credit Card Market Report CFPB). With 34% of Gen-Z using TikTok for financial advice, we suspect this number will continue to climb as the generation transitions to credit active. By building mobile-first, we believe we are positioning ourselves well to capture this shift than our incumbents who have built a moat with SEO. However, if you’d rather apply on a computer - we support the ability to transition your top picks from mobile to desktop seamlessly in-app :).

This is amazing! So beautiful and easy to use. Congratulations on the launch šŸš€šŸš€šŸš€ @sean_grossman3 and @austin_piel I have a question: I’m currently spending some time in Korea - Is momo only available in the US?
Sean Grossman
@austin_piel @chelsea_j_ Thanks for checking out momo šŸ˜„Ā As long as you have a US-registered device you will be able to download momo. Our categorization for rewards is based on the MCC so we will support international transactions!

Congrats on the launch! This is so sick. I secured my Chase Sapphire Preferred Card in May + now I'm considering another card — how does momo factor in recent applications? Love what you're building!!
Austin Piel
@ehi_airewele Thanks Ehi! We're in the process of getting credentialed with the bureaus so soon we'll be able to let you know whether you should (or should not) apply for another card based on your recent applications!
Steven Sabol
Hey Guys! Congrats on the launch - I'm curious, what type of data is factored into a recommendation?
Austin Piel
@steven_sabol Thanks Steve! Our recommendations factor in the cards that you currently have in your wallet, the last 6 months of your transaction history, your credit score, whether you're a student or a veteran, and whether you're interested in crypto rewards cards. In the future, we plan on incorporating any upcoming big purchases, soft perks of a card (like lounge access) and how recently you applied for a credit card.
Max Minsker
Very cool! Question for you - this seems similar to Nerd Wallet, is this different?
Austin Piel
@max_minsker1 Thanks Max! The biggest difference between momo and Nerdwallet is that momo uses your transaction history to recommend you a card, whereas Nerdwallet recommends the same cards to everyone. Everyone's financial landscape is different, so we believe the recommendations you receive should be too.

Damn this look really good. I do a lot of my financial planning from my computer—do you guys have a web app that we can use?
Austin Piel
@ktesherick Hey Kevin! We don't support web right now, but momo is built with React Native so we can easily extend to the web in the future. Definitely something on our roadmap!
