MillionDollarPost

Post a message. Rank by spend.

Inspired by the old MillionDollarHomepage, this is a simple experiment in attention economics. Instead of likes or algorithms, visibility for posts is determined by spend. Each dollar buys one point, rankings decay over time, and anyone can overtake the leaderboard by paying more. Messages stay public, links are optional, and the constant decay keeps the leaderboard fun and dynamic.

I’ve been sitting on this idea for years, inspired by the old MillionDollarHomepage and how bluntly it priced attention. I wanted to revisit that idea in a simpler, more dynamic way.

Instead of ads or algorithms, visibility here is explicit and temporary — anyone can jump to the top, but no one stays there forever.

I finally stopped overthinking it and shipped a minimal version to see how people actually use it. Curious what feels interesting, broken, or unnecessary.
