I built MateCommit because I hate the "paperwork" part of coding. After a long session, the last thing I want to do is spend 10 minutes drafting a PR description or a changelog. This CLI handles that boring stuff using Go (for speed) and LLMs. It generates Conventional Commits, drafts your PRs based on your team's templates, and automates releases. Hi Product Hunt! 🧉 I’m Thomas, a dev from Argentina. I built MateCommit because my Git history was becoming a mess of "fix", "update", and "oops" messages, especially during late-night sessions. I wanted to automate the boring parts—those 15 minutes you spend summarizing changes for a PR or grouping commits for a release notes—so I could stay focused on the code. I used this project as a playground to learn Go (I'm a big fan of single binaries like Terraform) and it eventually became my daily driver. A few things I care about: * Cost: I added real-time USD tracking because I once accidentally burned $5 testing an infinite loop... never again. * Privacy: I’m currently working on Ollama support to keep everything local.
