Makara Crypto Baskets

Hi Product Hunt! I am Jesse Proudman, the Co-Founder and CEO of Makara. We help you invest in crypto by building personalized portfolios through what we call "baskets." How it started --- I started a cloud computing company in college and sold it to IBM a decade later. In 2017, I found myself in IBM's research lab as a distinguished engineer researching crypto. This led me to found a cryptocurrency hedge fund called Strix Leviathan in 2018. The fund is growing rapidly and has performed phenomenally well, but hedge funds are only available to the most affluent investors. We had a desire to build something for everyone. Why Makara --- Everyone has heard of cryptocurrency, yet most people are not participating. The products are hard to use and understand, the volatility is scary, and some smart people say it's an unworthy asset class. That's why we built Makara. Invest in dozens of cryptocurrencies at once. Cryptocurrencies are volatile assets. Rather than invest in coins one-by-one, invest in many currencies at once through Makara's baskets. You can invest in things like DeFi (Decentralized Finance) tokens through the DeFi Basket. The Inflation Hedge Basket includes Bitcoin ad Paxos Gold. There is also Universe, which includes the broadest possible range of cryptocurrencies. Most recently, we added the Web 3.0 basket, providing exposure to protocols working on file storage, web browsing, video streaming and much more. What's next --- We have additional baskets in the pipeline with new investment themes to help you further personalize your crypto investing strategy. After working in digital assets for three years and seeing how few long term investing products were out there for retails clients, we decided to build Makara. Making crypto accessible seems to be a common tagline these days, but it is truly what we are doing. Buying, selling and storing crypto is a daunting and confusing task for a new investor in this space. Managing those assets across multiple exchanges and wallets while maintaining their preferred allocations is an extremely time consuming endeavor as well. Makara does that for you. Anyone, regardless of their 'skill level' in crypto can create an account and invest in a diversified portfolio of crypto. Our basket concept allows users to select a group of assets that align to a certain theme -- such as our DeFi basket. Even better, we manage that portfolio to keep your allocations rebalanced.
