Hi Product Hunt. Mark here, founder of a small hosting company in Kettering in the UK. This started as an itch. Every AI assistant I tried could write a lovely email and then handed it straight back to me to copy and paste. The ones that could actually send wanted me to move my mail somewhere new first, and my inbox is over twenty years old. I am not migrating that so a chatbot can help me tidy it. So Mailbox MCP does the unglamorous version instead. You connect the mailbox you already have. Microsoft 365 is one sign in, Gmail uses an app password, anything else goes over plain IMAP using the settings already in your mail client. The panel gives you a URL, you paste it into Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, VS Code or whatever you use, and 32 email tools turn up. About two minutes, nothing to install, no new address. The part I am most pleased with is the part nobody notices. You should not be able to tell we were there. Reading a message does not mark it read. Flags stay where you put them. Attachments come back byte for byte identical. Replies go out with proper In-Reply-To and References headers so they land in the existing thread instead of starting a fresh one, which sounds obvious and very often is not what happens. On security, because people quite rightly ask: message contents are never stored, credentials are encrypted at rest, call logs are deleted after 90 days, and incoming mail is fenced with a random nonce and stripped of scripts and hidden characters before a model ever sees it. Sending, deleting and archiving ask you first, every time. What it does not do yet: shared or delegated mailboxes, backup or migration tooling, and there is a 10 MB ceiling on a single message. Those are on the list rather than swept under the carpet. Free tier is five calls per mailbox per day with every tool included and no card. Pro is £34.99 a year.
