LTTR/INK is the stroke-drawing plugin for Adobe Illustrator that vectorizes strokes with perfectly clean outlines. Start using vector paths as a skeleton to draw strokes with brushes. The concept of skeleton type design was proven with LTTR/INK for Glyphs.

This looks so useful for type designers... would love to see this for Figma or Sketch next!

@chrismessina Great hunt. I wish InDesign is looking at Figma. Worked in it last week and it feels so old fashioned.

@chrismessina @patrickloonstra thank you guys for your kind words!

Well guys,, so far the plugin is doing its wonders in Glyphs and Adobe Illustrator. Let me quote some of the reviews we have gotten over some time: "Effortless modifying the brush controls in terms of size and angle." Fatima "I finished and released my first font Beloid Gothic in two days! Adam "I've sketched the stroke shapes in a few hours. Without the LTTR/INK it would be way harder." Valerio "This is not a pen, but a hyper-pen, and it moves in ways that would probably break my hand." Patrick

This list of reviews goes on: "I've fiished a font with three weights in one-tenth of normal time. It saved me months of drawing proper shapes with outlines." Michal "One of the hardest things to accomplish is clean outlines when vectorising lettering. This tool makes it for me." Jucel "Ability to change the angle of each point allows for a more accurate interpretation when working with Arabic." Hessa "It is really helping for rapid prototyping area for my work" Kevin

Hello, I am Samuel and I run a small independent type foundry CarnokyType. https://carnokytype.com/ I have been using LTTR/INK in Glyphs since its launch and it has been helping me draw spectacular shapes of letters. Right now, I am using LTTR/INK to create a complex family of variable fonts with multiple masters. It is saving me a lots of time and the results are amazing. I am looking forward to see LTTR/INK in Adobe Illustrator and I am sure it will provide smooth vectorization. Be sure to sign up, it is a great project! Samuel from CarnokyType

Ahoy Hunters! 👋 Say goodbye to weird, messy stroke vectorization in Adobe Illustrator. I am Filip, one of the LTTR/INK makers. Together with @martin_cetkovsky , @matus_zdansky and @peter_scur, we made the most powerful brush-stroke engine in the world. Not bragging 💪 LTTR/INK is that brush tool that you always wanted. - It is flexible — by rotating and scaling the brush on each node of the skeleton path you can achieve any stroke shape. - It makes clean outlines — the algorithm vectorises the strokes based on the skeleton so the stroke outlines are always convenient. Check out this YT video 🎥 to see it live: https://youtu.be/SA0W3r4gCok Previous year we have released LTTR/INK for type designers. And we have seen that they could finish their fonts in a significantly shorter time than normal, just because they don’t need to draw strokes with outlines. Now we are porting the engine as a plugin to Adobe Illustrator. I believe it will become an essential tool for lettering and illustration. Here it is — our pride LTTR/INK for Adobe Illustrator. Let us know what do you think about it in the comments 👇 Special thanks to @chrismessina for hunting us! Cheers, Filip from LTTR/CORP

This is awesome!! I think AI lacks precision in its pen tool, so this will be a great option for lettering/type.
Peter Ščur
@ana_michel thank you for your great insight! :)

This is certainly a tool that AI should have had so long ago! Exited to put my hands on it within the Adobe environment.

@guillevizzari Thank you for your comment and support! :)
