I have over 50 hours of footage from middle school through college, locked in hi8 and mini dv tapes. Transferring them in a digital format is super time consuming. The harder part is editing and parsing this footage into videos you actually want to watch because most of them (at least for me) are filled with fluff.

@rrhoover mine are filled with racy, immoral and illegal acts of mischief and hardcore hanging out
Michael ChangMaker@michaelmchang
@guygal @rrhoover Send those to us too...We'll call you if we can't "handle" the transfer ;-)
Michael ChangMaker@michaelmchang
@rrhoover right from our mobile apps and online you can create snapshots (photo stills) and snippets (video clips) and send those to loved ones and friends. We make it as easy as possible to bring your memories back.

Really impressed with how @michaelmchang and YesVideo are building out Legacy Republic. Let's get @michaelmchang to do an AMA!

I used Taskrabbit on some old VHS tapes. Wish I'd known about this. So LR will convert my parent's photos into digital? Does this work in Chicago?
Kevin LiHunter@liveink · Co-Founder at Farmstead
@dshan @michaelmchang pls respond :)
Michael ChangMaker@michaelmchang
@dshan yes, we can take care of your parent's photos. We also take care of transferring full photo albums, film and videotape. Just go to https://home.legacyrepublic.com to get your order started. Included is a cloud account for sharing and editing.

Thanks @liveink @rrhoover for the props! We are inspired by all of the consultants in over 20 states that have joined the mission in pre-launch. We are starting a movement that is a need for almost every family in America. It's about preserving your family legacy and then being able to do something with your media once it is in the cloud - editing and then passing those memories on to your loved ones.
