What do you think? …

scott wall
Why did this get hunted? Celebrity news and nonsense doesn't belong on product hunt, no matter how creepy/interesting/dumb/whatever people find them.
Alan
@scottwall0 Jacob? :O
Alan
@alanaut24 It's a sad day when the product I hunted: askwonder.com doesn't get featured but Kylie's app about herself does. Hmm...smh.
Sam Bauch
@scottwall0 I *strongly* disagree with this sentiment. If there's anything this community could benefit from, it is in understanding products that actually gain mass appeal, real traction, and make real money. Every time I see a chrome extension, or a website that bundles services for startups, or another emoji / gif / keyboard app I become less and less interested in what this community values.
Alan
@sammybauch Dude...it is an app about herself. Period. It isn't an app changing the world, it isn't an app providing a direct benefit other than to engage and proliferate her ego / self-worth. It seems you are contradicting yourself because you strongly disagree with Scott's viewpoint based on your own personal reasoning, yet you then turnaround and use that same reasoning to justify your disliking the current direction PH is taking. Spending 3 years working on an app that solves a critical need within the research community outweighs every aspect of what she (or who she paid) created. At the end of the day, I choose to support products and services which enhance human life - this does not.

@alanaut24 I don't think that's fair. She has a lot of fans, this was made to connect with them. It's a product like many other products here. Not all products posted here are being made to change the world, actually most aren't. As much as people hate the Kardashians, they have a very very large fanbase made of a wide variety of people, and have built an empire off of it. This is a product that's a different avenue for celebrities to monetize off their connection to their superfans and is being done in different ways by many different artists/celebs - and I think that's worth discussing and this is the place to do it. For a place that's made to find products, inspire makers, and look at interesting business models and markets - I think a product like this is important for that. Also, askwonder was posted before as "Wonder" and was featured.
Tori Bunte
I find her and her family insanely creepy.
Alan
@stttories lol. I don't think they realize that people are not following them because they like them but rather because they see it as a quick way to get famous.
Kunaal Arya
contrary to everyone here i guess, I like what they're doing. Tyler the Creator created something a few months ago through the same company - curated content that his fans would enjoy. Kardashians/Jenners are doing something similar plus a shopping aspect which fits their demo perfectly since they're today's style icons. I'm sure there's enough people willing to pay $3 a month to get a look into their lives and what they wear/do - i mean that's why they're so popular on Instagram/Snapchat/Twitter. For those who haven't used it, there's a combination of live videos like periscope, makeup/style guides, what they like, a blog/diary of sorts, Q&A. Sort of like a more intimate Twitter/Instagram for hardcore fans willing to pay for it. Interested to see how this model goes and if it turns out to be a way for stars to monetize.

Besides the fact that I find Kardashian family apps pointless, I find it interesting that this app uses a design and color scheme that is VERY similar to Tidal Music.
Alan
@kunaalarya Well then, that one fell through the crack. Missed that about Wonder. Rock on!

Kendal, Kim and Khloe also launched apps yesterday. Mashable had great coverage on their Snapchat account, which you can watch here https://vid.me/qFhy
