Hello Hunters and Makers! I spent the last 6 months building this first product of mine called Ku-di.
Here's the reason why I built it.
Over the years I've seen lots African creators and makers looking for ways to receive financial support online from their fans and community.
Some have been directly displaying their mobile money numbers or bank account number where their audience can be found. Other have been using Patreon, Buymeacoffee or Ko-fi which are the widely known options out there, and share their profile links.
It good to use these services(Buymeacoffee, Ko-fi, Patreon). But there's a downfall using these services:
1. All these services require users to either have a PayPal account or a stripe account or a bank account where their earnings can be deposited instantly or monthly. As we all know, Stripe isn't available in Africa at all and PayPal isn't available in most African countries. So those who can't have a Stripe or PayPal account in their countries have to use other ways of getting them.
2. After managing in getting a Stripe or PayPal account then creating a Buymeacoffee/Ko-fi/Patreon account and shared their profile with their audience, most of Africans don't own a bank account not to talk about a credit card. So these creators loose a huge amount of financial support from them if they wanted to help.
3. In Africa, in order to close the gap of not owning a bank account or credit card, Telcos have created the mobile money system where your mobile number becomes your personal or business bank account. So creators have been displaying their mobile money number to their audience online, which can be harmful in many ways.
4. The platforms where African creators and makers join have to take their commission if they take commission, either per transactions only or each transactions + monthly earnings. After these commission are take, Stripe and PayPal also have to take their share when they deposit into your account.
5. On Patreon, Ko-fi and Buymeacoffee you need to create a new account with different email for each branding you which to have. And the fees above apply for each account you own.
Ku-di makes things easier:
1- When you join our platform, you get a personal account. This account cannot receive donations but can be used to create other branding/creator accounts you wish to have where you can set your payout methods in order to receive donations.
2. You can create as many membership tiers as you want with your non personal account. Membership tiers are what your fans and audience support you with.
3. We take only 10% cut per successful donations you receive which include platform fee and processing fee.
4. Your earnings are deposited automatically into your accounts for free in less than 72 hours as long you have a minimum amount based on what was set by the payment providers we use. We currently use Paystack(https://www.producthunt.com/post...) as our sole payment provider. We are working on integrating Flutterwave(https://www.producthunt.com/post...) as well in order to open access to other African countries.
The current version lacks lots of features and design because I've been focusing on the core features which make Ku-di what it is.
I'm working hard on improving it and adding more features as time goes on.
I hope you like it and will love to use it.
Any feedback is very welcomed and can be sent through the website, our discord server(https://ku-di.com/discord), and twitter account(https://twitter.com/KudiApp) or comments on this post.
Thank you!

Interesting to know about mobile payment methods. I am not from africa, so can't relate much to the service. However, an explainer video would've been awesome.

@lilprod_life I see. I think there might be mobile money payment methods in some parts of Asia as well. I was thinking of doing a video version of each steps mentioned in the homepage but more like a tutorial thing.
Thanks for the feedback. By latest next weekend, i should update the homepage with it and this post as well.
