Hi everyone! I'm excited to launch Kitchenizer, a mobile app to manage recipes and generate shopping lists! I built Kitchenizer because I wanted a quick and easy way to create shopping lists. Before Kitchenizer, I would typically copy the ingredients from several recipes. Then I would figure out which quantities to use, depending on the number of portions I needed. Lastly, I would spot duplicate ingredients and combine them. Sounds familiar? If so, Kitchenizer might be right for you. Just select a bunch of recipes and individual items, and Kitchenizer will generate your shopping list, while combining compatible quantities. Once your shopping list is generated, you can reorganize it as needed and remove items you already have at home. Kitchenizer is also a single place to store all your recipes. You can send your favorite recipes to friends or share them with the Kitchenizer community. I can't wait to discover which recipes you'll share, and I'd love to hear your feedback!

My friend is actively looking for a good solution. First results on google were disappointing. I’ll tell her to give it a try :)
Louis Tinel
@leetwito thanks, I hope she enjoys it! :)
Congrats on the launch guys, I saw this by chance and it's interesting.

In Germany you say "you also eat with the eyes" - to be honest, there should be some visual improvements to actually have some persuasive effects. Maybe check the app Kptn Cook - I think they're doing well.

@wherelambo I'll definitely have a look, thanks for the tip!

What tool/code-language was used to build this app?
Louis Tinel
@shazzad_shoikat1 I built it using Flutter, Firebase, and Algolia. One of Flutter's advantages is that it's multi platform.

It would be awesome to add recipe categorization such as `vegan`, `for one person`, ... Otherwise a neat idea!
Louis Tinel
@jakub_kuba1 you can already set those :) If you tap on a recipe, it will tell you for how many people it is, and various categories such as "vegan".
