What do you think? …

I tried to learn japanese once and found it super hard. Especially when I found out there are several 6000 kanji characters and that was also the point where i gave up 😅 I hope that other people who face the same problem as me will go further than me with your app. From the first impression I think it's a nice helpful way to slowly get the characters into the head. Unfortunately I am not going to try that again now that I forgot all the basic stuff again
But for other people: Use his app - it will probably make learning Kanji much easier for you!

@jim_engine It's just under 2000 Kanji to be "Literate" and get through high school in Japan. This and kana, of course. (And how to bow, by situation.)

Jim Engine

@osakasaul yeah maybe, but "just" 2000 is already too much, then it does not matter if 2000 or 6000. If it was "just" 400 I would have done it

This is a fantastic solution to a classic problem. Breaking down thousands of Kanji into a simple, focused iOS app is the right approach for overwhelmed learners.

A genuine question for the maker: As you build this, where are you finding the most engaged communities of new Japanese learners who are actively looking for a tool just like this?

(I ask because I've noticed language learners and self-improvement enthusiasts are incredibly active and supportive in specific niches on LinkedIn—an often overlooked channel for reaching dedicated audiences like yours.)
