The job search has been a kick in the teeth, I started building JobHuntBuddy to keep my sanity while hopefully helping others with their search Job hunting can be a long grueling process. I love coding and making new projects. JobHuntBuddy started as a way to show employers what my work is like, while letting me dogfood it for my own job search. It also gave me a (productive) creative outlet while being unemployed. I know I’m not alone in this, lots of people are losing their jobs and struggling to find employment with everything going on in the world right now. This is my way of using what I know to try to help people. Of course, I would love for this app to turn into a sustainable business and allow me to be my own boss, but right now I want to help as many people as I can. I’ve added a free tier that lets job seekers track 10 of their applications and use all of the tools available. If you’re having trouble managing and organizing your job search maybe JobHuntBuddy can help you. Creating an account is free and I’m actively adding tools and features based on feedback, so don’t hesitate to reach out and ask for help. Happy Hunting Michael

Congrats on the launch, this is really cool and you can open it up in so many different ways to monetize by matchmaking add-on services like resume writing, etc.. very cool. Great way to stay organized and really make finding your next job your current full time job.

@husseinyahfoufi Thanks! Yes, there are definitely lots of add-ons I have planned and would love to work on in the future. Currently it's very manual, like adding your jobs to Excel, but I have some automation planned for future releases.

Anyone working on something like this is a friend of mine! 👏 this in itself should win you plenty of opportunities. Just too bad you didn’t know about Crash.co before you started 😋

@pocketfreud Kinda silly you have to apply for access to the tool. What is that about? Why not just allow people to signup and use it?
Jérémy Chevallier
@itsbrex great question. When you’re very early in your product, working closely with users to iterate quickly, you want to allow only the best-fit users to take up your precious time. Rahul Vohra of Superhuman has an awesome podcast interview about this. Now, thanks to months of closed beta & rapid learning, we’ll open it up to anyone very soon. :)

@pocketfreud Got it. That makes total sense. Would love to get in and give it a try!

Amazing initiative @michaelmesserli - especially during COVID 19 where so many people are losing jobs and companies are making people redundant. How did you get company profiles on your service? Was your design inspired by trello? Best of luck :)
Michael Messerli
@rish154 Thanks. The Kanban board was definitely inspired by Trello, but the company profiles just kind of evolved by adding all of the 'tools' I care about when preparing for an interview myself. Obviously, the tasks are just a helpful 'to-do' and reminders on the next steps to take. The notes section is the most important for me because I like to prepare talking points and questions for the interview. I have a really bad memory when I'm on the spot, so this helps me remember things I want to bring up during the call

@michaelmesserli Agreed! I do like having my 'tools' ready for interviews/meetings. Best of luck!

ATS for the applicant. Cool idea. I did the same in Trello.
