In our interactions with merchants from mature eCommerce platforms like Shopify, Ecwid, BigCommerce, and WooCommerce, my CEO and the team was able to identify and understand the problems associated with these established eCommerce platforms. We discovered that eCommerce platforms in Africa either lack country-specific payment integrations (like Flutterwave, Paystack, Vult, etc.) or put high transaction fees for them. Also, in order to have fully functional online stores with automation & conversion tools, merchants need to install third-party 10-20 third-party apps or plugins at additional costs. Recognizing the demand for location-specific payment solutions and conversion & automation tools, we took it upon ourselves to build JoatCart with these built-in apps and payment gateways.
