I built this free invoice generator after noticing something frustrating in the trades industry.
While working around builders and suppliers in New Zealand, I saw many tradies using outdated invoice templates, clunky websites, or overly complicated accounting software just to send a simple invoice.
Most of them didn’t need full accounting systems.
They just needed something fast, clean, and GST-ready.
So I built a free invoice generator specifically designed for NZ tradies:
• No signup required
• GST calculations built-in
• Instant PDF download
• Clean, professional layout
• Simple document numbering
The goal wasn’t to compete with full accounting software.
It was to remove friction for small contractors who just want to send an invoice and get paid.
This is part of a bigger vision to modernise construction workflows (Buildunity), but I decided to release the invoice generator as a standalone free tool first.
