The product was motivated by a simple idea: Can we really use AI to write a story? How can user get involved into the story? Then we created this game to let users get engaged in a narrative RPG game, and using their actions/decisions to build their own unique stories. This is only possible with today's LLM/OpenAI technologies. We would like any feedback/comments/ideas from you. Feel free to share here.

Many such games appeared half a year ago, such as AI Dungeon, RPGGO, and AI Game Master. Can you tell me about the special advantages of your product?

@an_zuo Good question. A short answer is: "In Another Life" is actually a Story Maker. People enjoy the story they make by playing some simple games. The story is not just some kind of Mud-like text play, but at the level of a fantasy novel. The whole point of playing the game is to make a real high quality story (checkout https://metabook.ai/stories), story at the level of a readable novel, not just some chats (as in AI Game Master) or guidelines (as in AI Dungeon). Here is an example: ############################### - Story from In Another Life (full story at https://metabook.ai/stories/stor...): "Across the digital reach, Priya's latest message buzzed onto her screen. "Have you tried the new set of problems on Trees and Graphs? They're killer!" With a smirk, Naomi replied, “Bring it on! Though I'll need humor-fueled guidance from Ethan after this.” Ethan was known for breaking down complex topics into digestible bites, usually wrapped in layers of sarcasm and wit. Naomi appreciated this camaraderie, these digital lifelines, as if they were the threads of a spider’s web, holding her aloft amidst the sea of silicon struggles. A small chuckle escaped her lips as she recalled Ethan's last quip, "Algorithms are the gateway to the galaxy of offers, my friend!" ############################### - And here is the "shared story" from AI GameMaster: "Excellent, everything is set for our journey into Eldoria. Let's begin. Erevan, you hear whispers of an ancient artifact hidden within the Shadowy Caverns, said to grant immense power to whoever wields it. Will you seek out the artifact or find a different path to manifest your destiny? i will seek. With a determined glint in his eye, Erevan proceeds towards the mist-shrouded entrance of the Shadowy Caverns. As the gloom of the cavern swallows him, the echo of dripping stalactites and whispering shadows accompany his every step. Go forth, delve into the unknown, but be wary—what do you do to ensure your safety as you navigate the treacherous paths ahead? I need a weapon and healing skill. " ############################### Now you see the core difference. In fact, initially this was a app to create fantasy novels. Then I found it's hard to let users define the story background, characters, events, etc. Then I think why not make the "story setup" kind like a game? Then I mixed gameplay with story creation, and came up with the current product.
