Gowalla - The Social Map

Howdy y’all! I’m a designer at Gowalla, and we’re thrilled to announce the new Gowalla is available today in the app store! It’s a social map and messenger all in one, and we hope it helps make it fun and easy to connect with your friends IRL: Add your favorite places to the map, check in when you go out, and find your crew in the real world. Speaking of the real world, we’ll be in Austin this weekend for SXSW. We’re hosting a gathering with our friends at Funsize on Monday, March 13. Details on social media. Gowalla's back! Of course, just in time for SXSW. @jw – Curious what the biggest changes or learnings you're bringing to Gowalla since its first launch 16 (!!!) years ago?

True story, Gowalla was instrumental in meeting my wife. I used it to plan our first dates and it really impressed her at the time. I hope it brings some of the original features back like the ability to leave designated messages to friends. :)

Hello! Congrats on the launch of Gowalla on Product Hunt! It looks unusual, I've never saw kind of app! But if someone wants to meet - they can just call or text in the usual messenger, I guess. Can you tell me your business idea (or something like that)? Thanks.

@maxvoltar so good to see your face on here. Congrats @jw and team. Can't wait to take this for a spin in Greenville. I desperately want better ways to connect with my real friends both near me and those who are far or traveling. I'm grateful you all have taken on the challenge.
