Hi, I am Julia Lerner, the founder of GearEye. I’m here to answer any questions you may have about the product. My whole life I’ve been misplacing things, and after losing my passport one day, I thought there must be a better way to keep track of important items. That’s how I came up with the idea of GearEye, and using RFID technology to help monitor our personal items and gear. The project on Kickstarter:

If you're like me, you know the frustration of arriving at the airport only to realize you've left an important item at home. GearEye aims to save people this frustration by providing a tool that monitors users important gear, using RFID technology and a connected app.
Awesome, an alternative to all the BLE solutions out there! How does the locate feature work?

@masone, indeed:) The app guides you by changing sounds and graphics towards the missing item

How does it help you find a lost object? Do you just walk around until your geareye is in range of the RFID tag?

@georgegayl Yes, the app notifies you in the moment GearEye "sees" the item, and changes sound loudness if you are closer to it, as in "Hot and Cold" game
