Just installed. Love the idea of the auto-saving. Looking forward to closing my 4 million Text Edits with partially saved notes. Thanks for building!

Hi guys! I built this out of frustration with my previous note taking situation. I took a step back, envisioned what I really needed out of a note taking app, and built just that. The app does one thing: It gives you quick and easy access to some text. That can be a TO DO, or notes, or whatever you like. Anything you type is automatically saved and text editing is made easy by some extra shortcuts (see website) for quickly ordering or removing lines. It sounds simple and that's because it is, but it's exactly what I need :)

@kilianvalkhof but dude, why is the program so big? ;) see the gif

@milann it's built on Electron (same as the Atom editor) so it bundles it's own node and chrome, that's where the bulk of the size comes from. You don't notice the size when using the application though ;)

@kilianvalkhof @milann maybe this would make a great Chrome App in that case :)

I didn't know how to install the Mac app...

@rrrraulsc Like any other mac app: rightclick on fromscratch.app, select open, voila! If you want to "install" it, you can also drag fromscratch.app to your application folder.

@rrrraulsc @kilianvalkhof add to that, allow software from unidentified developers from the Silicon Canals. ;)
