I built this to solve two problems: 1. Urgent TTS need where I don't have time for complicated choices. For e.g., a cranky kid in the back-seat who wants a specific story and need to read something quick on the way to a meeting. The on-device TTS does not have speed options. 2. Play local files with a simple audio player that allows speed and equalizer controls. All current solutions on the app store have too many ads or complicated controls.
