Complete your habits with proof, or forfeit money to charity

Say what you're going to do, when you're going to do it, and how much money you'll Forfeit if you don't do it. If you don't send photo proof by the time limit, your money is donated to charity.

Hey all! I personally struggle to motivate myself to complete everything I want to do, so I built an app that forces me to complete my habits. Forfeit forces you to send photo or timelapse evidence of you completing your habits by the deadline you set, or donates your money to charity. Some example Forfeits are: • I will hit 30km on my Peloton before 8AM, or I'll Forfeit $10 • I will submit a photo of myself awake and downstairs by 6AM, or I'll Forfeit $10 • I will submit a time-lapse of myself meditating for 30 minutes by 10AM, or I'll Forfeit $30 • I will submit a photo of my completed history essay by 9PM, or I'll Forfeit $30 • I will record a 10km run by 3PM or I'll Forfeit $5 • I will read for 30 minutes, or Forfeit $20 I've been working on this app for a while, but have procrastinated on launching it for the past few months (procrastinating on launching an app to stop me procrastinating, lol). A few people have found it spontaneously on the App Store and have found it really helpful and an integral part of their routine, and I hope you will too. All of the money goes to GiveDirectly (a charity that gives money to the most poverty-stricken people in Kenya, Rwanda, Liberia and Malawi) - we don't take a cut. All of the Forfeits are manually verified - ie, if you set a Forfeit to be at the gym by 6am, and send a photo inside a gym at this point, it will be approved. If you send a photo of your kitchen sink, it will be denied. The same works for timelapses! There is also a run feature (a GPS tracking feature logs how many miles you've ran, and once you hit it, it's successful) and a self-verify feature (just verify if you've completed it or not, no evidence required). You can find it by following the link, or just searching for "Forfeit" on the App Store. All my best! Josh
